Lynne Calvert (previously Schlumpf) is an American author. She entered the Air Force in 1981 as one of the first women in the avionics (aircraft electronics) fields and went on to retire from the service.
She then went on to follow her passion with computers after receiving her bachelor's in the field in 1994. She became obsessed with online communities beginning in 1985 with the online bulletin boards like Compuserve, Prodigy, and her own private BBS. By 1994, she was logging on to the Internet and learning as much as she could about online businesses. She spent 6 years from 1994 to 2000 researching the Internet and figuring out the best methods for e-commerce sales. In 2000, she released the first edition of "The Little Website That Could," and it was a big hit then. By the time the book was published, she had run several e-commerce stores, including stores that sold some of the first Pokemon products in the United States.
One of these sold the artwork and dolls she loved to make. By the time she returned to the Lower 48 in 2011, she had been a practicing artist for about 12 years. By 2015, she had written two illustrated children's books called "Amazing Dragons Volume 1" and Amazing Dragons Volume 2," along with their companion coloring books. These books featured her artwork created on the iPhone and iPad. In 2019, after seeing a few of her readers become millionaires, she decided to start updating "The Little Website That Could" and released the 4th edition in 2019. She hopes it will help many more readers to find success and loves to hear how their lives changed after reading it.
